A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to work with the amazing Lisa Husmann and her recently launched floral design and event planning company, Platinum Events. I had a great time with their crew, they did a beautiful job and the venues were incredible. I just had to show them off a bit on my blog! The first venue I’ll be highlighting is Rancho Las Lomas, located just north of Laguna Beach. Everywhere I turned I saw another great spot for photos…

They even have zebras!

It’s couples like Adrienne and Robert that make my life so amazing, and it’s days on the job like this one that keep me away from sitting in a cubicle the rest of my life. The two of them fell in love while enjoying their passion in life, a passion which has lead to careers outside the cubicle as well. Actually, not just outside, but way up above. Now they are pilots, and their love grew strong while training to be where they are today.
While brainstorming ideas for an engagement session with the two of them, it was only natural to have an aviation theme. Sure, we could have gone to the beach and come back with some amazing photos, but that wouldn’t have been them. I always tell my couples, think of a place that means something to you, and the photos will mean so much more. So the three of us headed out to the airport in Palm Springs on a beautiful day and came back with some amazing photos that are so unique to Adrienne and Robert. Another tough day at the office ![]()

Robert got the opportunity to take this beautiful biplane for a spin. Look at the grin on his face, and he hasn’t even taken off yet!

Photog Shootout – WPPI – Las Vegas Wedding Photography
March 16, 2010The new year is finally here! You heard me right, because for any wedding photographer the new year doesn’t begin until our Christmas is over. When the trade show doors open at WPPI every year in Las Vegas, it’s like Christmas morning, and I end up spending money I don’t have on fancy new camera equipment I really don’t need. It’s great!
WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) is the yearly conference in Las Vegas where I get to learn from the best in the business, meet and hang out with around 14,000 photographers, and see the latest and greatest new gear. Like I said, Christmas! This year the Photog Shootout crew hosted a fun photo shoot in Old Town Las Vegas, and I had the great pleasure of leading one of the groups, along side the other group leader and founder of Photog Shootout, Rob Ninja Nicholson. The theme for this shoot was “Dazed and Confused,” so we decked our models out in 70’s outfits and borrowed a classic ride! A big thanks goes out to Kia Gregory for putting together this great event, and thanks also goes out to Tommy DeGennaro for allowing our models to sprawl out on his beautiful Corvette!

Time to switch groups. Looks like my good friend Chris Onstott spotted me snapping his photo, so he’s paying me back. Check out his blog, he posted some great stuff from this shoot, along with a shot of me risking my life for a photo…

These guys walking by decided they wanted to jump in for a shot, stick to the day job fellas…

Katie and Ross had their beautiful wedding at the Alta Dena Town and Country Club a few weeks ago. A great couple blessed with amazing family and friends, what more could you ask for? The weather report and cloud cover caused a bit of concern for their outdoor ceremony, but once again the sun broke through at the perfect time and cast incredible light right on the couple. How much more proof do you need that having me as your wedding photographer is good luck?! ![]()
