The road trip is in full swing! I say this sitting in my hotel room in Farmington, New Mexico, and yes, I realize New Mexico was not on the schedule. But what would a road trip be without wandering off the beaten path along the way?

After leaving Breckenridge I made a few stops to visit friends in Boulder and Denver before heading to Durango to prepare for Carrie and Jeremy’s wedding on Saturday. Although they were very quick stops, it was good to see close friends even for just a night. Brittney and I have been friends for over seven years now, and although I don’t get to see her all too often, her and her family have been like my second family. I photographed her sister Bethanne’s wedding last year in Alabama, and I’ll be photographing her cousin Maleigh’s wedding this November down there as well. So I guess you could say that the Wilson family have their own personal photographer!

One thing I was really looking forward to in Denver was to see Brittney’s new business venture. She is an amazing painter and she found a fun and catchy way to share her gift with others. She calls it Canvas and Cocktails, and it was fun to see it in action! The idea is you show up with a bottle of wine, visit with friends, and learn how to create an amazing painting. How cool is that? Makes for a great date night :) And since I was lacking a date for the night, I decided to snap a few pics…

Brittney always has a big southern smile to greet you!

After a long drive through central Colorado I made it to Durango and stopped for a bite to eat before heading to New Mexico for the night. Of course I took a few photos of the cool town…
